Does any body repair them?

Or sell an epoxy that will bond them back together?

I have two that are broken and cracked.

Thanks

Get some plastic bumper repair kits from any auto parts store. I used this on an Alien cowl that was badly damaged. Repaired it over 4 years ago and it has held up well. It works well because it stays somewhat pliable and doesn't crack or seperate due to becoming brittle. It also bonds very well with the plastic. You will have to cut out the cowling liner to get to the cracks from the inside.

I destroyed a good friends alien cowl several years ago and after getting a quote on replacing it I unfortunately went with an Eagle One. Huge mistake. Another friend seen the broken cowl and told me he fixed plastic for his company's body shop and would fix it for me. Unbelievable job. You cannot see the repairs and it truly looks like new.

Jody, we had a guy in the area cover his entire bike with fur but not quite like yours. His was long, maybe 3-4", and covered the bike completely to where you could see no paint, only long, brown fur. Of course I had to ask why and he explained he did wheelie competitions and not only was it good for show it also covered all the many crash scars he had created. Definite eye catcher.

I use a product from a company called Crest and its not the toothpaste guys lol. Its about 30% cheaper than the 3m equal. I use "Red Line" part# CE-RL on the inside for strength with a peice of plastic mesh over the crack for more strengh. You can use drywall mesh that you can get at you local hardware store, it comes in a 2" wide roll. Then I use "Code Blue" part#CE-CB for the cosmetic repair on front, apply like body filler and sand out then prime. If you wanted to get by cheaper you could use the "Red Line" on both sides.I let the product sit over night before sanding, it just seem to feather in nicer. Biggest tip isbefore repair wash with dawn dish soap and the hottest water you can get even if you have to heat on stove . This helps to remove any mold release agents and oil resdue left behind. I also drill a 1/8" hole at the ends of every crack to stop the crack from running any farther. There number is 800-822-4100 and they are located in Trenton. MI. I have repaired all kinds of plastics with this stuff from bumpers, bike parts and cowlings with good results.
Good Luck

I use 3M panel bond for everything around here. Sometimes I use "stitches" made from stainless o-ring wire too.

As far as the fur, I read a study once that hair follicles on the surface of things met the least wind resistance of all. Including polished, dull, orange peel, golf ball dimples, etc. I'm not kidding...probably is not the most durable and may be worse when wet though. It created the least obstructive boundary layer...I'm gonna start putting fur on the insides of the ports of my heads...

Intresting, I have used alot 3m panel bond on sheet metal but have never tried it on plastics. The reason I don't use the the 3m rigid or flexible epoxy is because it requires an adhesion promoter not to mention it is almost $40.00 a tube. I also forgot to mention that you need as special 2 part mixing gun to apply it. I have about 10 of these guns around laying the shop that I would give to a fellow S&Fer, I'm sure I could stuff one in a $10.00 flat rate box. If that sounds like to much work I might be willing tio take them off your hands.
