my question is what do they mean when they said to dril threw the megaphone i'm assuming...lol they meant to dril threw the can also when you dril threw the mid section.....it's close to the lower end of the mid.

yes drill thru outer housing and thru inner liner as well. i put my box on drilling outer only it did not sound any louder so i call bobs and they said instructions are clear to drill thru both pieces so i guess that explains my bad grades in school.

Get a bob's ex/ tuner and take the can out too.....Then it will be plenty loud....

heck one person told me to dont drill trew there at all because in the stack it holds water are something and it would mess it up ..he told me to drill between the cav. plate and where it mates on the lower ....put bout 3 or 4..... 1/2 holes there

taking can out only good if you have a lightweight boat. you will lose low torque at low rpms with the can removed

i dont wont to take can out there is a way to drill out your exhaust ans leave the can in there just for a lil sound when your above the plane running....

You can open up the exhaust relief ports on the bottom of the mid but it really doesn't add much sound. If your looking to mod the backside or side of the lower mid, you must drill through the outer wall of the mid and the same hole goes through the can. Your not going to realize much change in sound, I think you'll be very dissappointed. I've done several exhaust mod's to 2.5's and 3.0L's, you have to be agressive in making an exhaust change/mod or it's not worth it. Here's a typical Mid layout, you'll see the can and item #20 which is a gasket that seals the can to the lower section of the mid, so exhaust is forced out the 2 exhaust vents at the bottom of the mid and the L/U as well. So if you drill through the wall of the mid only, your not venting the exhaust in the can to flow into the mid and then out of your drilled holes. What kind of motor we talk'n about here, 2.5 or 3.0L ?????
