no cowl safe and me put a rope around the engine bracket pulled a gauge out of dash board and put the line through the hole drove home with one hand on the rope and when the rope got tight I slowed down I'm guessing 84mph with 3.0L and lots of setback may have something to do with it well the next hull I do will be able to handle EOB ( My back yard ) so everyone I'm looking for my next project hull ? This is not the end of me just the beginning so be safe life jacket and safety harness at all times . Eric

Not starting any rumors what so ever :nonod: just speaking from experience...Living in Brightwater for 15+ years and running those waters, seeing many boats come back or get towed to Bay Shore marina all I can say IMVHO... 95% of the time it is a rough area to run for a small boat, that is all. I hate to see or hear someone think that it is an easy sail and damage their equipment or worse yet hurt them self. My simple advice is, respect the waters you run
BTW, Not saying it could not be done.
Heck you can run outside inlet to inlet in a hurricane ;):D :smiletest:

Sorry to hear about the damage, that truly sucks. It definitly gets rough over there at times, like tony said, you just need to respect it, but its a lot of fun over there as well, nothing wrong with EOB, if you go over there, you have pretty good odds of getting home :)

Sorry to hear of your boat mishap ! But Like Superbender said there is nothing wrong with running east of the bridge, we do it all the time, however you must be realistic and know your boats abilities in rougher waters and always pay attention. Deeper V's are better !
