View Full Version : merc 200 compression check went weird

Have new powerhead broke in few months ago comp has always been 121 all the way round now reads 130 on the right side all three? Should I throw this cheap gauge out n buy a good one or what? 2.5 200 merc

Stock I assume guy I got it from said everything was stock I broke it in a few months ago and hav checkd it once in a while always been 121 got back from swannee and whole right side went up to 130

heads are prolly different cc's, usually motors pickup 2-5 lbs after the rings seat.

Well I havnt used it much mayb left side isn't broke in yet?

Hav noticed the left side runs bit cooler and let's out less water have two hoses one comn off each head. Hav a temp radar gun thing and the right side runs bout 160 left stays much cooler say 120 or 115 and let's out less water don't know what that means always done that mayb right side is broken in because of higher temps mayb I should put the water hoses back stock and use the thermostat.
