Wow, it sucks that you had to do this all over a foot, but look at the bright side you want have to deal with your neighbor anymore.

Looks to be a I beam trailer, break away tongues really arent a option...Now way in the world id give up room in our home for a boat though.
Should have moved the jack back to where the frame splits into a V and then let the tounge hang over into his yard a good four feet .. in reality .. you wouldnt be touching his property .. ;-)

Sounds like you lost a neighbor but gained a boat shop. How are you going to keep the smell of gasoline out of your house?

Hanging over the line is the same as being on the ground. Hard to believe but I have a close friend that has been dealing with a dick neighbor over this same situation. They have called the police on him for his boat cover touching their fence while blowing in the wind and having the mirror on his work van over the property line. He moved the boat 6" the first time and folded the mirror in the second time. The police appologized to him both times but they had to make the call.

I beam trailers have square tube tongues. I know a couple guys with aluminum I beam trailers that use those to get them in the garage. The one I posted is a weld on but theres also a bolt on version.

Gawd, sometimes people get so stoopid with the whole neighbor-property-line-thingy that in my old age I might be inclined to just give out knuckle sandwiches, spend the night in the hoosegow and then buy a new house out in the middle of nowhere
:D
Your thread reminds me how lucky I am to have neighbors who tolerate me, my critters and my toys...time to make pies for everyone, I think

What the heil is a foot? Some people just don't get it. Over here in Boca we have 48 hrs to remove boats from vision. I got the checkmate in the side yard behind a six ft gate and the donzi is stuffed in the garage. The latest problem is the landlord is due to come by .Rick

Rock is correct on anything over the property line, on the ground or in the air!
Some neighbors are tough. If you felt your property line was correct or very close and wanted to give him something to consider you could have asked him to provide a recent survey with survey ground marks before you did anything. Heck he may have had to spend some $$ to prove his line! No proof, no move.

It seems as though this is the mentality of people everywhere. It would and could go along way if we each just gave once in awhile, im not saying to let go of morals or to let criminals get away with crimes but let the small stuff go, no harm no foul.
At least you got a boat shop out of the deal.. sucks your neighbors are petty.

If you go the survey way you now have an enemy. Hatfields and the McCoys comes to mind. Rick

Rick, The minute he said that thing is on a ft on my property, move it. He became my enemyyyy!!! :D:smiletest:
I live on 4 acres in the middle of a 120 acre tree farm. I am 900' off the highway and own the property my lane is on. It's 30' wide and the only access to the western half of the farm. I allow the tree farmer to use the lane but I ask he only use it for access and not loading. His occasional clients and I have butted heads a few times but overall the farmer and I look out for one another. I could force the farmer to install a culvert and stay off my property and then again he could have charged me for the 6 or 7,000 dollars worth of trees he has placed on my property. What goes around comes around.
