Everything works on this motor, up/down and in/out. Without leaking. Factory original electric fuel pump and filter.

:D :) :D :)

It's probably only has about 5 to 10 hours on it. After not running for about 20 years, I only took it up to about 6200 the 3rd time out. never missed a lick.

This shows a 15:23 lower unit. Also came with 1:1 and props for both, without a nick in either.

Tim, that's a GREAT lookin' engine. I hope you'll keep me at the top of the list if you ever decide to sell it. The boat looks like you've been sanding on it. That's not the Shultz is it????

Air, that gearcase is OMC's version of the speedmaster and like the Mercs was made in more than one gear ratio and was small and non shiftable (foward gear only)

Raceman:

It is the Schulze. The pics i have posted of it before make it look better than it really is. The paint is pretty cracked up and has a lot of chips in it. This week-end I'm pulling everything off and out of it and going to town in the sanding department. Will probably make some tracings of the graphics so I can get them back to exact as possible. I don't think I've ever seen paint that hard. Really comes off hard. It'll be worth it in the end.

The gearcase on the motor now is a 15:23 swinging a 121/2X25 from the old OMC High Performance, before Second Effort. Still have a couple of there catalogs and price list from July of 1981. I do have a 1:1 gearcase also, even smaller than the one on the motor. That on has a 9 3/4X 17. There is one more out there someplace. Looks like the 1:1. Only it's 15:17, rare as hens teeth. Iv'e heard that it ran better than the 1:1. I'll find one some day.

There is also the "club foot" as in the image Bill Gohr posted in the gallery.

How about scans of those catalogs?

A scan of the old engine catalogs would be great.

The '81 OMC High performance parts catalog is at http://www.screamandfly.com/screamandflymagazine/Brochures%20OMC%201981.html Greg has them well hidden under the Multimedia link at the very bottom of the main page. I'd love to see more of the old Merc stuff in there as well.

The gear case on the engine is what they called a clubfoot. I hit the wrong key instead of 15:23 it should have been 14:23. The ones in the advertisement had no nosecone. This one is factory installed. The 1:1 has no nose cone. But, I have seen them with nose cones on them. I think it was Kim Clecker had one for sale on ebay (KC-13). Still 1:1 though. Don't know if it was factory or not though.:) :)
