Hi, I was wondering if you would be able to answer this question for me. I have a Hydrostream AE21 and want to put a 150HP mercury v6 2.0l on it. But i know these boats were rated for much higher HP's so my question is what speeds would i be able to achieve with this motor with the correct set up? Any help would be great thanks Dave
Thanks Dave

Never had an AE21, but I had a 150 on a Virage. 150 isn't enough for a Mod VP bottom boat from my experience. Mine ran OK solo (73), but was a slug with passengers. Set back helped a lot on mine, and I think it's generally true that less HP needs more setback.

my vegas ran 56 with 4 people 61 with 2 and one day i got a blistering 64.5 by my self with a 12 plate and about 1 1/2 down, 24 trophy that ran a tick faster than a 24 chopper 14.25 dia. it isnt enough power, i dont think for you

What is the difference between the 150 and the 200 that year? Carbs, tuner etc? That boat won't pack air and fly till that 150 is out of steam. Probably will run 60s as is.

2.0 liter vs a 2.4 or 2.5

You might try the guys on Fastboats Canada. I think 3 or 4 have AE21s.
