This Sat. - MacDill
Anybody going out? forecast got much better from N15 to NE10 - it is very good from a boat if you have never been - you can see the whites of their eyes LOL
might head over saturday. it usually seems to get choppy airshow weekend every time i try to go and it becomes easier to just drive in a car. always a great show tho.

Well they did move the wind back to 15, I'm not sure which side to try - DI and sneak down along Bayshore to just east of the base, which I have done the other times. The other option which I'm leaning towards is Gandy and down around Picnic Island to the southside of the runway, maybe a little more shelter there.

ESD,
We will be out with the Posse on Saturday between Picnic island and the "warning" signs for the base. give us a buzz if you are on that side.

Woke up this morning to small craft advisories in the bay and 15 knot winds out of the NOrth tomorrow. HHMMMM
Might have to come up with a plan "B". Any ideas?

SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING
TODAY
NORTHWEST WINDS AROUND 20 KNOTS. SEAS BUILDING TO 5 TO 7
FEET. BAY AND INLAND WATERS CHOPPY. A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SPRINKLES
IN THE MORNING.
TONIGHT
NORTH WINDS AROUND 20 KNOTS. SEAS 5 TO 7 FEET. BAY AND
INLAND WATERS A MODERATE CHOP.
SATURDAY
NORTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET. BAY
AND INLAND WATERS A MODERATE CHOP.
If the wind is out of the north east it shouldn't be to bad on that side. But as convoluted as the forecast has been who knows. 3 days ago the call was for 5 MPH out of the west for today.
Chris I saw that too..

i KNEW i should have kept the formula!!! haha i think if we launch at gandy we should be able to ease over there staying protected AS LONG AS THE FORECAST IS RIGHT!!!

It's "suppose to" get better by Sunday. Several of us will be at Beer Can Island on the north side. That's usually where they make their turn. If you put in at Williams Park on the Alifia, you can run behind the spoil island and you only have one spot to run through that gets bad. Mike.

DAMN - Sat and Sun are both listed as NE 15-20 - although from the Gandy Ramp that is protected all the way down along picnic island. I thought about rolling to Sunday but that doesn't seem to help, so I'll put in at Gandy and sneak along the island and hide behind it, shouldn't be bad that way and sheltered by the base itself with no open water. I can't imagine trying to run from St Pete though, Fish sounds like a car day for you but we have room - just an FYI
Mike would like to hook up but too much open water from Davis Is - bet you end up on the west side though, that northside will not be fun
Sheer call me if you need info 813 -286 -8344 -
[email protected], I'm 10 min from the ramp and have a guest room if you bring that blender thingy LOL - The Gandy Ramp is an easy exit from I 275 and across the Gandy Bridge
I'll put my pirate flag in the T Top like at Dog Island, not sure how many boats will be hiding over there - regardless should only be one boat named Egg Suckin Dog

Did someone mention that blender!!?? LOL
Originally we were running form the Causeway down to the air show but with the wind I think that we are going to the Gandy ramp too. We are putting in around noon'ish. What time you getting there ESD?
I got a cool flag from Demeanor too, I'll bring it and let it fly!

If was perfect. There was not a cloud in the sky for most of the jets except wen the thunderbirds started. It clouded up a little but not so much. Winds were fairly light until about thirty minutes before we left to come back to the ramp. It was a little dicey on the way back but there were also 30 other boats heading for the same ramp.
