What's the torque spec for cylinder heads on a 1993 2.5 260 stock heads.

From what I've seen, guys are torquing them to 38-42#. the stock angle torque method is generally not accepted because of thread pulling. Jay Smith would be the guy to ask too. I think he'll tell you the same.
Use the correct thread lube and oil on the underside of the bolt head.

Once a new 'stretch bolt' is torqued... as in ** ft. lbs. plus 90 degrees, it can no longer stretch, so most refer to the old torque specs.

I torque 260's at 36-38 ft lbs ........
Works for me..

Jay, refresh me on what you lube threads with, is it moly or anti seeze on the threads and oil on the bolt underside?

Any heavier grease on the male thread ( Pro Marine needle bearing grease ) and a lighter oil on the bolt head flange to achieve accurate torque value ( old blue Mercury 2 cycle oil , I also use that to lube piston, skirts, rings and bores at assembly time)
BTW: ( lighter oil on the outside of the engine is easier to clean )
