The bridge I am familiar with is verticle. The Z runs at an angle from top to bottom.

Z is a 2.5 and kinda hard ta find........Guys tend ta hoard 'em from what I've seen. Think I've seen two, maybe three go up for sale on here over tha years...

I have seen 2.4 z ports, so it could be. more common on the 2.5's. Nobody that I know builds them anymore.

I saw a Z port 2.5 block that is about to be built this past week in a shop. First one I've ever seen in person.

Cool, a lot of work.

Cool, a lot of work.Yes it is, a lot of tedious welding on the block, then some tedious mapping on the CNC for the sleeves.... is it worth it??? I'll know this winter when I get mine on the water.

The 1200R jet ski uses the "Z" port and puts out more power per cc than any 2 stroke we know of.

The Z port motor Russ Bentley ran two years ago at Gulfport wore everybody out in Lake Racer. It was quicker than a shart.

Russ's motor is VERY strong. I'd love to have that motor but I think it's gonna be buried with him. Lol

Alex Hledin PTR built it. He is one of the HP kings.
Probably had water cooled bridges in it. Though, I think his oval port motors make more power, and who is to say it is a z/bridge motor.

It is a z port I seen the insidesWhat are real world advantanges vs.disadvantagesI know it's older tech but they are still usedI know it runs like a raped ape so it ain't a tired dog witha full bladder;)
I also know that I'm sacrificing CI to all but the v-4
Any other differences other than ports
I was told to rering every 100 hours , true?
Thanks Dan

If it's a nic block, mileage (hours between refreshing) will vary depending on how hard you run it.

Not sure about the 2.4 Z port engines, but I'm pretty sure the 2.5 Z ports were/are steel sleeve motors.

My next one will be steel :D It can be bored when the nitrous goes south :reddevil:
