Just wondering if there are any other differences, if you were to machine 2.4L heads for dowel pins would they work on a 2.5L?

Or you can remove the dowl pins and they are a direct bolt on.

Get some 2.0 pin heads..... they have smaller chambers and bolt on. .2.4 heads are not worth it.

The 2.4 heads I have are around 30cc, that'll be my next question, how small of chamber I can get away with on pump gas.

30cc mite be pushing it a little (for pump gas) 34 is usually the magic number! 2.4 heads can be used!

I run a set ov 14cc heds(no Orings) on my lil outlaw bote fer a lil while(wuz a had-to situation)...and they wuz only good for 6 to 8 passes before they blew tha hed gaskets.....Back when I started doin tha Hi compression thang, Galen Burden builkt me a set ov Oring heds wit 8cc's, az well az tha 10's....They were 2.5 heds, oringed for a 2liter....Galem said thier wuzn't enuff meet left after oring'in a 2.5 hed for a 2.5(with big compression)....I personally thank anythang less than 21cc's needs to be oring'd!!...JMO

is there any gains to be had w/ the different combustion chamber shape on the 2.4 head? i wouldn't think so otherwise merc would've carried the design over to the 2.5, but merc has been known to walk backwards!

If they iz, It ain't enuff to see(at leest I never seen it!!)....When I first started mess'in wit theze OB's, and run into tha Hemi heds, I figger'd it hadda be a better hed bekause bein a Mopar man, and tha HEMI bein THE ultimate HP mota, hadda be tha hed design that helped.....Well, Tha 4 stroke HEMI hed wuz ther for differnt reasons than tha 2 stroke version...Tha Chrysler hemi hadda have hemi heds to make room for them humungus valves, but tha 2 stroke don't be got no valves, so I alwayz wunder'd if tha shape ov tha combustion chamber had any other advantages...Well, If so, I never seen it!!!...I run both kind with plenty compression, and they both gave the same results.....But, I like tha HEMI heds, bot only kuz they have that HEMI name...:-)...
