resleeve merc xr2 magnum (race version)

hi guys,

im planning to bore all 6 cylinders .04 over but one sleeve is damaged too much.
i googled for a new sleeve but there are 2 versions. straight sleeve and flanged sleeves.

can someone tell me what to order?

Order the straight sleeve. The flanged sleeve is for use when the top of the cylinder is damaged where the head contacts it.

John marles ordering a sleeves en the pistons for me.
He is talking about The od of the sleeve, feeling stupid but what is od?
What are the best sleeves to use?

od = Outer Diameter.

Im new with resleeving and i tought the outside diameter was standard.
So i first need to pull the sleeve out, measure the outside an than john can order it for me?
I thing we got some work to do.

I believe that sleeve (2L) is cast into the block. It cannot be removed, it must be machined out to accept the new sleeve.

the block has never been sleeved so i ordered a 0.02 oversized sleeve.
i will let the old sleeve cut out to 0.004 smaller as the od off the new sleeve.
