I have a 40hp mercury sea pro and the gear ratio is 2:1 (13 spline) The 55hp mercury sea pros have the same spline (13) so i was wondering if their 1.64:1 gear would fit my outboard. My prop fits the 55 sea pro!!! sould i have to swap the whole bottom end or just the gears??
