Really any jackplate designed for a v-6 will handle a 300X. CMC and Bobs hydraulic and manual plates rated at 275 hp have been used on 300 drags and v-8 OMC's. Detweiler is another option. Contact Rickracer on this board for a great price on which ever you decide to buy.

My Bob's plate did'nt make it 3 months after I hung a 300X on it. I have had several Bob's jackplates in the past and really liked them, but the weight of the 300X and the abuse I give my boat I'm going with Stainless Marines Gorrilla plate.

Yes the plate is Hydraulic. The Hydraulic Pump and Reservoir mounts in the boat.

Look at the J & B Plate. 6000 lb lift capacity with 230,000 lb mechanical advantage. I think that will lift your 300X. What kind/size of hull are you running?

The Gorilla is also a fine choice.

Banjo, which component of your Bob's plate failed?

Looking at the back of the boat it would be the left side rail. The milled section where the plate fits and rides up and down started to crack across the top of that rail. I noticed a 1/4in crack that grew each time I ran the boat. To get the speed out of my boat I would have to run it close to all the way up it seemed to put alot of stress back there.
