just picked up a nice 2.4 200, its a 88,going to swap the heads to a one piece. how much can i safely plane off the heads with out any issues? thanks

Has nothing to do with the "plane" off amount its all in the CC's after you've finished and with what thickness is the head gasket you choose..
Its just not that simple as start cutting X amount of thousanths off as there are several CC differences in heads that fit the same motor to start with , those who will tell just cut X are a " lost ball in the high weeds ". I cut heads daily and you've got to know these things to do a quality job that you can use safely , or your wasting time and effort...

ok that i uderstand, like a 35 cc head or something, any number i`m looking for or is it a waste of time to do the heads.

Not at all I find that reducing CC to increase compression to be THE biggest bang for the buck and still run pump gas.
