Guys I have a simple question to ask .
Is there such a thing as a engine not getting up to proper running temp?

150-160 would be good. Big problem with gauges we use, is accuracy is highly questionable. I changed my gauge this year, old gauge was reading 110, new gauge 160, that's how far off they can be, so temps should always be confirmed from another source.
If it's an all chrome 2.4, it can tolerate lower temps than a steel bore motor, 120 is probably acceptable.

Motors will t-stats (fishing motors) will likely get a bit hotter than hi-perf motors. Here, the lake water runs from 55-75*. My normal temps on hi-perf, no t-stat motors is about 100-120* water temp. My fishing motors have thermostats and run ~140* heat temp when running.
