lower unit question

have a 2.4 with a cle on it not sure what the ratio is. Question whether it is stupid or not is if i were to try a 2:1 from a 150 what would be the pros vs cons. and if it would damage motor? all feed back would be appreciated. like to have a little insight on this:)

Depending on your setup, prop selection, and engine's power band, some like 2:1 just fine. Mine hates it, but other people have had good results with 2:1
