Im in the process of swapping a 115 Merc for a 200 Evinrude I got a great deal on and as the 115 blew again didnt work so well. The Evinrude has 2 harness coming out of the side tube for the trim. One harness has 2 larger gauge wires with round ends and the other harness has 3 wires also with round ends. Which is which? Im thinking the harness with 2 wires is a power from the battery and the other harness with the 3 wires are the up and down wires. I have no wiring on it now for trim but the up and down button on the wheel from my old setup. Any help would be great and Thanks. 240819240820

76 200 hp evin used a 3 wire tilt/trim motor [ black/blue/green ] 10ga or 12ga wire i believe, the other 2 married wires are the tilt/trim sender

Ok so Im assuming then one is a ground the the other would be up and down? Black ground and up blue and down green? Tilt/trim sender?

I hav ethe same engine, they should plug into a relay box, and the two sets of wire harnnesses get hooked into to that box, the relay box has a 4ga pos & neg battery cables to power the trim system, as stated above. one harnness is trim blue up, green down, other wire harnness is for a trim gauge, out of the relay box, you will have 4 wire I believe, black ground, blue up, green down, and the other is the for the gauge, but you can still trim it out or in by putting " lets say green to neg and blue to pos". rev to trim other way, but I do not recommened running without the relay box,, good luck
