Does anyone know if the Mercury 2.4 lazer 220 is a bridgeport and are they very close for parts swaps? The serial numer is ob266798, any info would be appreciated.

it is not; it is a standard oval-port 200 block, but some of the parts are similar (coils, trigger, stator, tuner, exhaust covers).

Like John said it's the same as a 200 carb but with fuel injection and the fuel injection is also different than a bridge port.

the first 2.4 efi or Laser 220 is also a very suspect ecu lots of troubles with them over the years not everyone but a big majority of them

Guess I'm lucky. Mine was flawless, over 15 years and never missed a beat. Always started easily and ran great.

Thanks for all the reply's, On the ECU subject, Is there any Mercury ECU's that might be substitutable and possibly a upgrade? I'm not there yet but I am going to consider switching over to Brucato's PCU's later.

not in my opinion. jus tbite the bullet and buy the brucato unit. You will be glad you did.
