I know I should probably post this in the detailing forum but I wanted to share this with as many members as possible and I know the general discussion gets the most traffic.

Anywhoo...I've had some serious mold/mildew issues with the interior of my boat due to using a shoddy cover that allowed moisture to saturate into my seats. I had tried everything to get the stains out. Some things worked slightly, some did nothing. Anybody who's seen my boat recently can tell you how bad the mildew stains were on my seats. Really made the whole boat look crappy. Well, I was browsing the cleanser isle at my local Publix (Florida grocery store) looking for some stuff to clean my bathroom with and I saw this bottle of stuff called Mold Armor. The label said "for indoor/outdoor use" and also said I could use it on vinyl. For $2.99 I said "what the heck". The instructions said to spray it on, let it sit for 5-10 minutes and hose off. I tested it on a small section of my front passenger seat. After 5 minutes or so, I went back to the boat and the section was like new! I sprayed it on the rest of my seats and let it sit for a few minutes and hosed it off. My seats are clean and yellow again. There is only a very small bit of grey stain where the mildew was really nasty on a couple of spots.

Now this stuff does contain bleach, so use caution with it. Try to keep it off the stitching and away from any thing it could stain. Also, just leave it on for a few minutes, it took less than five to clean my seats. Otherwise, it works wonders. I couldn't be happier with the way my seats look. $2.99 was way cheaper than re-appolstering the whole boat.

Its got bleach in it. Anything with bleach in it will work. Just rinse your stitching really well afterward.
To get rid of that stubborn spot, take an old rag, put some straight bleach on it and let it sit on the spot. Works great for getting that stubborn mold/mildew out of caulked seams (boat and bathroom) as well.

I've tried other bleach products including softscrub. Even after scrubbing with a brush, it was still there. This is the first product I've tried that really did the job and I didn't have to scrub at all. I will try the bleach rag trick though.

I have a stain on the backseat of my HST.

The stain is a print of a car tyre because the previous owner laid the rear bench on a car tyre.

I tried a lot of things but nothing works.

Someone familiar with staines like this? I dont think I will never get rid of that stain...

I'll have to give it a try if I keep having issues.

Unfortunately, the Mold Armor didn't do much for getting a nasty stain off my rear bench. Don't let chicks bring fruity cocktails on your boat.:nonod:

I had tried everything on the mold stained seats to my three Honda PWCs and finally found that the expensive 3M vinyl cleaner and restorer from West Marine finally took the stains out and also softened the vinyl too. It does not contain bleach, just some silicone derivitives. It works great so I bought a dozen bottles off the Inet.

if you wash the seats down with Murphy's oil soap & water then towel dry they are softer & have a great shine

If you think you seats are clean, use spray nine with the Mr.clean eraser and you will see how dirty there are !
