Get ahold of Rapid Jack. Just IMHO it's the best. I have a 3.3 looper w/350+ hp hanging off one.
With anything always check the bolts for tightness.

Most if not all jack plates are Horse power rated not weight rated. Especially the hydraulic jack plates.

I have the 4" Bob's HD's holding up my 380hp Monty V8's. Work fine, jack up and down under power/load.

I've got a 6" CMC plate on my Eliminator. Could probably use a little more oil, but it works goog once it fills the cylinder.

My concern was on the CMC SS one (i think) it said rated for 300hp V6. Guess I may have to go hydro. I dont plan on ever using it once set. The main reason for it is if I ever change motors I don't want to drill any more holes in the new transom.

When I enquired about Bobs Machine hydraulic jack plate I was told that I had to use the Extreme Series of plates. On u tube there is a clip of a Bob's that broke with a V8 hangin in the water.
I purchased a Bob's Extreme and don't anticipate any problems.
Some other plates are rated for 300hp but definately exclude the V8's.
