I currently own a 1976 19' Boston Whaler with a 115 Suzuki 4 stroke. She runs 40. I am looking for a sweet 16 O/B to transplant the 115 onto being a 20" shaft and only has 170 hours on it. I am hoping for high 40's, maybe 50 if set up correctly. Possible or wasting my time?

most of the 16 donzi outboards i've seen have 150's or 200's on them. that hull is capable of speeds in the high 50's to 60 with the right setup. don't think you're gonna see it with that 115. good luck finding a 16 donzi outboard that doesn't need restoration. not sure a 20 inch shaft is long enough for a donzi 16 transom. sell what you got an d go find a donzi 16 with a small block in it. tons of fun

If I am going to go I/O I want an 18 or 22 as I live on Tampa Bay which gets a tad snotty. Looking at a 22 later this week.

I have nothing to add other than this awesome video of a Sweet 16 running fast in some nastiness out on Lake Michigan

Ya I would want at least a 150 promax on there. 200 would even be better. OR an 18 with 502 would even be better than that.:) Accually spend the money on a 300XS for your 19ft whaler and have a whale of time with her?

I would if I believed in the "other" black engines. I had a 1991 175 looper on her when I bought it and did 52....A real problem with only a 40 gallon tank.

Sorry....I should have updated the thread. I bought a sweet 1994 22' Classic in Alabama last month. What a sweetheart. Anyone need a 19' Whaler?242697
