I have been running stainless washer with a 1/4" hole which is the smallest I could find at the local hardware. I would like to build a little more heat which is currently 110 degs or less. I believe that it was discussed that you should have a 1/8" holes. If this is correct can I use a quarter($.25) and drill an 1/8" hole instead stainless washers? I want to run the motor at around 125-150 degrees.
Thanks, John Smith
The holes should be 3/16". What engine you running?

What did you do with the hose that went to the poppet that came down from the top of the block?

That hose is blocked off on the top of the block with a pin kit. The hose off the poppet is run out the cowl.

Try 3/16 inch holes in the restrictor washers.

Johnboy,
One suggestion. Instead of tinkering around with pulling and changing your restrictors to try and find the right size at different times of the year, try this. Pull the restrictors out but leave the gasket..bolt it back together. Now, go to the hardware store and find you some brass fittings that will fit snugly into the end of the hose. Get a variety of different inside diameters so you can easily pinpoint the size you need. You can make the change on the water w/o even taking the cowling off.
Mine is setup this way and it works great. Hope this helps
