First, Why?

There are a bunch of snaps on the inside of my XB. They go around all of the hatches, there are non on any other part of the boat. All I can figure is there were covers for the hatches but why would anyone do that? I can't see how a cockpit cover would work with the snaps this way (or why you'd want one), there are no snaps forward of the front end of the rod lockers.

Second, How do I make them go away?

The holes are pretty small but I'm sure they'll grow once I bevel the holes for filling. I'm comfortable with West Systems epoxies and others. Can I get matching gel coat to try and blend all these holes after filling or??? I have some other small repairs to do here and there where previous owners must have moved things around, I'd like to do all this at once while I've got the carpet out. I think I'm usingSeadek in place of carpet.

Thats really odd, as far as filling them, i would use a countersink and fill them with matching gelcoat putty. If you use epoxy, you cant gelcoat over it. Gelcoat putty isnt the best fix but it can be sanded and buffed. If you just fill them, down the line the seam might show back up. Really they should all be ground and a small piece if glass put over them. Then faired and glecoated, but thats alot of work......

What kind of resin would be compatible with my hull and gelcoat? I'd like the holes to disappear. Anyone know if Allison sells touch up/repair kits?

Any quality polyester resin should work.
