Saw them last night next to the Ohio river. Them old guys can still rock it out. Becker and Fagen are the only original band members. The rest probably got old and died!
the Drummer looked to be in his low 20's one of the best I have ever seen. they played for about 2-1/2 hours without a break. They were great.

Steely Dan was never really a set group of musicians. Becker and Fagan used numerous musicians over the years to record their albums. The one thread that has never changed was Becker and Fagan writing all the music and playing in the "bands". Great stuff...It reminds me alot of bands like Heart. Ann and Nancy Wilson still remain, but the rest of the band has changed ten times over!! Even though I enjoyed seeing them on tour with Def Leopard last month, it's not the same as seeing a group of guys that have stuck it out for 20 or 30 years. Take bands like Def Leopard, Kansas, Styx, Jethro Tull, Bad Company (until they ended their last tour), etc. For the most part the same band members for extended periods of time!! That's what I appreciate!! I just heard that Yes is going to tour again..with just the original bass player, no Steve Howe, no John Anderson (he hasn't sung with them in 2 years), the original keyboard players son!....they might as well change their name from Yes to No!! lol...........and then you have the Cars. Ric Ocasic said he would never play with the Cars again and here we are some 26 years later and they release an album and go back on tour~!

I agree with a band staying together for along time. The thing with these guys is there first album was like 1972. So next year it will be 40 Years since there first. I dont think a 65-68 year old guy could keep up on the drums:eek: They didnt take a break for a little better than 2-1/2 hours.
