No the 225 PM is a 3L and 3L parts do not mix with 2.5L parts.

a 225 promax is not a 3l and yes it will bolt up on a 200 mid just fine!

My 225 PM XS is a 3L and I had to buy a 3L Sportmaster LU to have it bolt right up.

what year 225 Promax ?the first ones were 2.5 motors i bought one new in 1995 the only difference in that and the stock 200 midsection is the exhaust holes in the adapter plate for the 225 are a lot bigger then the 200 so you will lose a little there. i owned mine for 16 years rebuilt it 3 times top speed on my 20XD was 85 wit me a half a cup of gas an nuttin else. Im sure someone like Paul Nichols could have set it up just for speed but that was rigged for fishing i think i read once in a Bass and walleye Magazine back in the 90's he had one set up to run 92 set up 11/2 above the pad Sporty and a big wheel . but thats when they were 375lb motas lite cowl and not a lot of pumps and Gizmos, nowdays Merc call a lot of stuff Promax so it depends what Promax we talkin bout:D:D

Key here is tha XS. They are tha 3.0 replacement of tha 2.5 ProMax when Merc HiPerf consumer motors went green....Sometime in tha early 2000's.........
