Met Parker and a bunch of people down at the lake today. in between Massive thunderstorms and 15mph winds with bigger gusts, parker decides he wants to test the seebold. Looks like he has bee driving it all his life. He had a hard time with the right weight n the nose where his cooler was but after he finished a couple fourlocos and one of the MD 20/20's, he got the weight just right. :reddevil:haha

thanks Alby. he seriously looked good, very comfortable, all business... who knows, might not be long before the track is calling him. I've always said he is the best non-professional tunnel boat driver i've ever seen so i guess i should have not bee surprised how quickly he was catching on.

Actually, its the perfect "High" to have. Just had finished re rigging the Flatbottom, and zero wind, on the trailer, in the sun, warm, few cheap beers, Merc "stack" fired, and in a cloud of "TCW3" for too long?:p:D

Ya'aa getting to much sun back there, plus that laid back slow southern drawl! Here we talk 600mph, and we talk funny west coast anyway! (Actually, we talk fast, to make up for slow boats!). I understand everything I mumble just fine! I think, ..maybe......sometimes.....(who cares?):p:D

I envy your weather Robby. I have next week to get our cabin ready for our little get together. We been fryin for the last week but our severe heat warnings run out on Sunday. What really sucks is the river has been too high to use and in a few short weeks has dropped to where it is too low. Never used to be like that.

One of these days I will get to ride out there. Gotta be one of the prettiest places on the planet.

Dude, its something "acquired", over my 61 years. First, ya gotta start out in the 50's a kid, then the muscle car/boats 60's, HS, then "explore EVERYTHING if life, "at the edge", ..(or the flashing lights behind ya say.."enuf"!). Then ya gotta go to war, Nam, get a little more "grip, of worlds reality", (foot longs for a buck..REAL Thai, free beer/whiskey/bullets/5 buck overnites, village girls), then come home, (wait another year to do a legal beer in a bar).. deal with the asholes that wanna run yer life. Then do the 70's, "spoon feed", (if you don't get that, well, ya missed it!). Then ya get older 20's, try the married thing, 2 years, nuff me. Now been 3 Rehabs over the years, probably (51 years riding now, still own 6 bikes, and 3 boats, been at that 55 years), more month long cross country rides, me, my old HD Bagger, that some WISH they could do. And had a good job, but they closed down the plant (Machinist, 21 years), and I was "pensioned" out at 44 years old. I have not worked but some side jobs in my home shop, always help the friends here, in 17 years. Trust me, I seen more damn USA "life", than many. And regret nothing. Some people do life at 33 1/3 old RPM "vinyl records", some do the 45 RPM records, I run at the old 78, RPM speed! I simple can't sit still. and no need too, and after I get up at the crack of noon, mess with yer heads here, puter, then get something done, boats or bikes, then, (like now, 7pm, time for my dog and me to the beach, couple beers, maybe take my "Canadian buddy", (we are a private HOA, and still legal to have fun here, just behave)....and call it a "perfect sundown a coming", home, Pizza, crash with some "racing on the tube", wake up the comfy couch 2am, go to bed, after me and the dog go out again, and "pee on a bush"..then the rack..(unless I hear a party going down somewhere)..wake up noon, "repeat". This "keyboarding" crap, I spit, is yeah, real me, but if ya sitting here in the shop with me, you would understand VERY well...what I say. Anyway, love ya guys, my kinda "gearheads!"...we sure do speak the same "language"..(some faster than others!) (Damn, have a patch here, starring at me, middle is simple "Vietnam Vet", top rocker says.."Don't let the gray hair fool ya", bottom rocker...says.."We can still kick ass!"
Actually, I think I saw too many Gary Larson cartoons, the "Far Side". STILL, like the comic panel, cows in a field playing "poker" at a table, one says, .."CAR COMING!", they dash out and graze, until the cars goes by, taking pictures of cows grazing, then back to the poker table. That dude (Larson) had a SHARP MIND ..for the "wit", the "what if", cows DID play Poker, no one looking?:rolleyes::D:thumbsup:

HA! Seems my bikes and boats all run fine, but I might have a few screws loose! Actually I LIKE being an idiot, keeps the normal people away from me!..(now I'm cracking up!)

Back to the boat subject, I never have had the chance to rid in a capsule boat, plus the helmet on. Always have to be out in the wind, some loud motor behind me. I need all the feedback/noise/wind I can get. Heck, finally got ride of my big I/O, as if I can''t see the motor, much less hear it, might as well get the oars out.

Must be a gas though, as seen many cockpit view ride vids, and seems be a whole new ballgame, once used to it, I might not wanna come back. Probably very similar to my old M/C ice racing days. Once lined up, all tucked in that helmet, flag down, its all out that little front window, feedback hands and butt end sliding, ya know what I mean. And when in doubt, GAS IT! Sharp boat..have fun with it...(why the hell am I sitting here looking out the window at the water, 1:10pm, high 70's, 20 footer in the slip, and I'm on the damn keyboard! Ah hell, I got all day!

Actually first was through work, as getting a little too easy with the powdered nose. But those old 70's Fox Lake Chain weekends all wound up, getting crazy, WAS FUN! Never went back, never done a hard drug since.
Other 2 R/H were BS DUI's on the Harley chopper. "Mothers started to get mad", cops started busting everybody. One pulled over for a damn '"Bluedot" in my tail lens. Had a few to many in me. Other racing a corvette. Both charges knocked down if did 30 day out patient. In other words, forced to go. Marriage. 2 years. Irish Catolic blond, large family, wanted nothing but a ton of kids. Split. She remarried, has 4 now, and I got the toys I wanted. We both won I guess. Now, since 1977, kinda done what I feel like, and thats fine with me. Have some great neighbors, solid friends, money in the bank, roof over the head, food on the table, gas in the tanks, halfass healthy, heck even the dog likes me! And even if I did have some regrets, don't count, as what done, is done, live, learn, move on.
"Give a Thumbs up to the future, middle finger the past"..........

And of course thats means all I do is all the work, to pay the bills. OK if thats what some want, some came from big familys, and want big familys. But I'm a little too "wild", want my freedom to do the impulsive. Wife never cared much for my bikes or boats either. Plus I think her mother was pushing her, as her 2 older married sisters didn't want kids. Water over the dam, been long ago, and I kinda liked chasing fresh skirt after the divorce anyway!

Friend mine (old winter ski club buddy from Illinois, now in California) used to waterski behind the fast boats, race to Catalina Island, other races at 100mph, or some insane speed. I wanna try that fast on a damn inner tube behind a balls out TUNNEL!

Parker, just came back yanking the 3 weeks in the slip 20 footer, and I'll have to send ya a PM on Pam, R/E agent there now..old flame, in Ft Meyers now, Shes STILL a fox in her 50's, one the hottest in HS! That chick post yers, well, she (Pam) is a natural, massive "twin peaks", zero "push up bra". And a nice azz, and legs too. Slightly blond though! She has been after her divorce (long ago), went into Real Estate agent, licensed Illinois decades, quite a few now licensed in Fl. She got stupid..(I TOLD HER WAIT!), but no. During the Greenspanny "free money surge", pump the economy, Heloc's at 2 %, after 911 debacle. Heck, I have a Schwab IRA, and they offered me a $100,000 HELOC, ..(My house paid off years now) at a simple..1% under the Fed Rate. Didn't need the dough, but I'm a wizard of "manipulating" ANYTHING, the azzholes who want yer dough ..(bankers), without working me!) Retired REALLY helps, as ya have to sit back, read the fine print, and I DAMN sure ON IT! Did the HELOC in 2003, 10 year draw, 20 year pay back. Shoved now $20,000 on it..(yeah, something to do with boats!) Thing is, next year I start SS dough coming in, extra $1200 a month..(been living my pension for 17 years just fine..only 61 too,..(I'd be dangerous with money anyway!). have the loan paid off within 2 years easy, be 64, sell of most my toys and shop tools..(pix shop coming), plenty of dough, buy a motor home, do a last 6 month USA "road trip", park my azz do in Fl, with the rest ya crazies.
On Pam..(I got ahead of myself again!)...
Anyway, Pam wanted to try FL, buy some R/E for future "retire", still owns rental prop in Illinois. So she bought a one B/R condo in FT Meyers for $90,000! I told her WAIT, its that free money from the banks! Well, now rented, can't sell for $12,000 ask. She just picked up a foreclose, 4 B/R house, for $45,000 in Meyers. I'll send ya her info, and on a PM, send me a email addy. and I will hook ya up with her. She has sent me listings around Ft Meyers, that are under $100,000, with water..(canal access anyway), the prop line. Anyway, I'll PM ya back in the house tomorrow..out in the shop now. Pam is down..(over?..only 3000 miles from me!..gotta love women and distance!)..there Ft Meyers now. I'll hook ya two up. (and if ya think I'm some BS'er, she knows my old azz well, as I BS no one!...more later..

"find the SS 2B prop, for my Flatbottom in there!)..the "original .."Robot Chicken Operating room", bike shop alone. Boats all in front. We would need "Frank M", and a dozen at least car haulers here, to move! One hauler would take my lathe, drill presses, welders, etc..I got YEARS of "stuff", and I still don't know how I could EVER go back too a.."simple tool box!"! But, age, will say.."give it it up, slow down, relax, and pay someone to do what I been doing..(but I WILL BE WATCHING OVER BIG TIME!).Knowledge NEVER goes away! (Kinda, as I learn new stuff from the kids here all the time!, and me them, as see many youngin's, ride by little scooters, half azz flat rear tire..HEY DUMBAZZ.. GET OVER HERE!) Also, any of ya make it west coast, South Puget Sound, always welcome here, place to crash, after the front yard fire pit goes out, 4am. (And I WILL wear ya out "talking!" ALWAYS .."last man standing, any party!" Those who are solid snoring, can't move, get another few logs on the fire, and my favorite "blanket", my 95 pound lovable Golden Retriever..(this make any sense, as gota a good 12 pack in me, "buts its a bunch of "Lite beers"..(gotta watch that weight!....(BS, left Nam in 69 at 190, 32 waist, now up to a whooping 205, 33 waist! "Head got fatter though!)!

Talking the 6 month "trip"? That would be the end my road trips. (Maybe?) Damn, did Rt 66, from Illinois, to see my Uncle, my dad's brother, in SoCal. dad and him left Ohio in the 40's (I have VERY wealthy cousins, down there, and my dear Aunt Ruth, bless her heart, is hitting 96 years old, and my Uncle John..(passed on)..was a Solid car freak, one off the founders the "Long Beach street races, in the 50's". My dad did Chicago suburbs, boat and car freak, as my older bro, now lives NorCal, 70, been vintage racing a wood frame Morgan, then a 56 Alfa. Last year lunched a motor crank, motor toast. Sold the remains, and still does the circuit, with there friends, as ya know, .."its racing, pits or not! All in the people!
Back to my road trips. Rt 66?, 3 times in the 50's. Then the damn planes showed up. First ride me in the 60's, all soCal, was a Twin (whoop, TRIPLE) Tail "Connie", (and then ya dressed UP, dad in suit and tie, mom in her finest, me, just shut up!)
THEN, did the first new "jet", the "707". Well dad was pissed off, as the old Radial planes, did the "low and slow", show you our the National parks, Grand Canyon, Rockies, Lake Tahoe, more like a simple, little faster, but scenic, as the old car rides, ..on the Mother Road". Damn jet flew 30,000 feet, and fast. Dad did NOT like the .."Whats the rush?"..(damn, look at today?)
Then done the service later, and if there, world, I probably have the T-Shirt. THEN, I did 3 month long CC rides, west coast, on my Bagger HD!. BEST RIDES EVER, just me, my bike, clean and sober again..(I go on/off..depends location, here is cool..private anyway..I'd NEVER do the road with cops ever again, few beers..(you guys either!..Trust me, again, any excuse to pull over, couple in ya,?..$$$$$$$$$$$)
Moved here in the 90's, from Illinois. First ride, my old van, trailer with two bikes, dog in back, then fly back and uhaul the rest out. And in 2006, big azz "all year HS reunion picnic", back in Illinois, and me and the dog, in the Astrovan, did a 26 day ride back, for a ONE DAY PICNIC...(but its was all in seeing old HS friends, 40 years ago!) I still miss not going to the Fox lake Chain, Thursday nite drags at Blarneys. And don't think for a second, I was not there with dad, and my bro..(Baby Switzer, 20H merc!) in the 50's as a kid. AND I remember when, some one said at Blarneys, at the bar, LONG time ago, ..(I'm serious here), the now famous..."we should do drag races on Thursday evening, show yer stuff, and do it before the lake turns to chit, weekend wakes? And that my friends, is history. (Want one more tidbit?, I BROUGHT UP those Fox/Nippersink/Grass lakes intersection "No Wake" buoys, as boats closing down the 2am bars, balls out home there, I told the water cops, "we need a NO WAKE HERE OR SOMEONE GONNA GET KILLED!) HA. Had a 17SS Switzer then, XS 1500, surface prop. Ya want the story of the first busted, I'll post tomorrow..(ITS DAMN FUNNY!)...yeah, its was me at 12:am. (DAMN, I raellay have lived a lot of stupid! Thanks for letting me share some stories to ya, as getting a little too old to make new ones, so guess what has been done, is good enough. Lifes has been a real gas to me!

Heck I had to go back and edit some that post too..(I think ALOT faster than I type). And tell (and make) stories way better in person! Give me a few beers and a campfire, and sit back and see if I ever shut up. Plus I'm always getting interrupted when out in the shop, on the puter, so lose where I'm at. In the house now, so no one bothering me now. Typing still sucks anyway.

I LIKE the Chevy! Had a 67 Caprice, wish I never sold it. On the Minitrail, I had 3 at one time, took all the best parts and put that one together, 78 frame and motor, rest is best of the rest.

No way Illinois this year, but a possible road trip next year...(one never knows when I will decide to get one more thing, on the "bucket List", OFF THE LIST!

if your road triping it , your comming here

To tell ya the truth, I'm getting a "Gypsy" brain fart cooking", to do something different, on road trips. Most were done, bikes, (or later van/doggy back to Illinois, as getting old) from Illinois to west coast, staying out the hot southern part, US. (Kansas tornado's on a bike are no fun either!) But then I was working (bike trips, month off summer). First hit Sturgis, then go get lost in the mountains heading west. Been a LONG time since the southwest AZ, ..(have friends there, Tucson), and thinking then head into Texas, old friends there too, Dallas, and then I actually have NEVER been to Louisiana, but a "beer stop at "Forkin Crazy", is on the list, as close , on the way anyway, to a friend on mine in FL, Pensacola area..(FT Walton Beach). First need to hit inland, old bud mine in Leesburg.
Then trip south Gulf coast, friends in Clearwater, then your sorry old slow azz in the "Champ" boat, on the way too see what Pam, in Ft Meyers is up too now. Last seen 2006. Still in touch email of course, all. Then to the east coast, friends there too. Cocoa/Daytona. Then probably head north, friends in Tennessee, see a friend in West Virginia, cut back to Illinois, ..(our 45 HS reunion is 2013), then head home, west coast. I'm looking at a good two months on the road.
Thing is, this well not happen next year, but the year after. Then will be a good year into the extra dough, SS money (starts next year, June), save up the extra, and rent a small motorhome, or buy one and sell after, and stuff the dog in, the Honda Minitrail the rear, and camp out the whole way. Always loved the Neon lite motels with a pool on the bike, but getting VERY scarce! And my old azz has done enough bike road trips anyway.
BUT! As western Washington has perfect summers, it will not be summer. Then the ocean weather here hits, late October, some snow in December, some wind storms..(I gotta a LOTTA trees here, branches on my house/shop/boats SUCK!), will all be over by late February. Then a long boring gray drizzle spring. Thinking March/April on the road, toss the neighbors the keys, and get lost for a few months. (Don't think I don't have a USA map in front of me now!) I'll be 63 then, so probably my last big road trip. My aging sister (75), and BIL (87, old WW2 B-24/5 navigator) are mostly why I'm still here, looking after them. I probably hang here until they pass on, maybe do a FL condo/rental bought house FL, let Pam, old GF R/E agent look after it, do 6 months here summer, 6 months FL, winter. Still in the "plans" (DAMN, Ft Meyers cribs going for less the $50,000. Anyway, who knows the future, who cares. If I wake up tomorrow, (probably, as I'm a stubborn old "Gyspy", always need that.."whats around that corner?)...and shove the ride in gear..tell the dog.."Whats that over there!"?....(we have a 1/2 pack cigarettes, full tank of gas, its dark, and we are wearing sunglasses, ..HIT IT!"
And on that the "Blues Brothers,", I used to party with John and the SNL gang..(originals!), long ago before famous, done the Chitown "Second City", then after hit the "Blues bars", after, and the whole cast was .."just like the rest of us, having simple fun". Also, if bored, read the book.."Wired", about John Belushi. His story was mine, but I did not have the fame and dough, to get all f%^ked up constant, rock on and die early, and I was lucky to get into a rehab, and stop the 70's madness. If anyone ever meet John, ya missed a super, insane, funny guy! AND, I also had ZERO clue, the Blues Brothers filming going down, the movie!
BUT, I had to work one Saturday, and in the morning Sunday, I headed up to Fox Lake Chain. About "Round Lake?, have to look a map"..on Hwy 12, and Hwy 176, came over the bridge over 176, and a zillion "old black and white cop cars", all smashed up, getting loaded on flatbeds. Said WTF? Found out later, it was the Blues Brothers filming, as was done sundown night before "smash up!! DAMN!.. missed that! And where they are cruising the beach in the movie, loud speaker on the roof, promoting the "Famous Blues Brothers", .."come and see the show", (still cracks me up, the famous lines...Ackroyd, "You, on the motorcycle!..."you two girls!"...Watch it again, whole new meaning now, and I pretty sure that was the same..(DAMN, Cedar Beach?), where I played as a kid in the water, LONG Ago..nuff me...(is this readable?...took my time!)
