Well i have my boat flipped over in my backyard and to be honest i havent got a clue on how to split the deck & hull from one another. the seam is covered in what seems to be some kind of seal. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

from what you've discribed would be the opposite way to tackle the problem. to remove the deck, I would start with it right side up. so do the bottom work, if any is intended, then when she's rightside up, remove the rubrail, then it probably is riveted together. if it's glassed together, get a die grinder and cut the glass at the seam. most hulls are like a shoebox, top fitting over the bottom then rivetted or glassed together. get some pics up. fun out

do what ever your gonna do to the bottom, flip her back over, then pull the deck off. as stated before, most hulls and decks go together like a shoe box. if it's rivited, drill the rivits w/a 1/4 in. bit or so and when the big part comes loose, knock the small part through with a punch. I'm going to look one more time at the 1st pic, can't exactly make out what it is.
okay that looks to me like the lip of the hull, thats not where the deck is connected to the hull, did you remove the rubrail from this hull, I'm beginning to think this is the way you found it in someone else's back yard. tell me I'm wrong. to be honest, I've never worked on an allison or studied how their decks are secured, and am at this point unsure, that crack along that seam just puzzles me, but normally that would be an area called a trim edge on a mold, where you lay the glass up to and let the frayed edges lay over till they kick off enough to cut with a razor knife neatly and have a nice area to mate the cap to.

kyja95, On the three Allisons that I have separated you have to remove the rubrail, then like mr. fun said you have to separate the two layers. The Allison is put together with the deck overlapping the hull but it is tough because it is glassed all the way around where the two meet. I took a flat chisel and started a separation point then took a sturdy putty knife and chisled my way all around the boat. Take your time and it will come apart. If there is any way around taking the deck off it is better to leave it together. I have a boat just like yours and luckily the transom is solid. I am in the process of changing the stringers and sub floor though. Good luck with it! NC
