Whats the best way to ship an outboard from Freeport, NY to Cape Coral, Fl? Its a 3.0L with 20in Mid on a palate. Is U-Ship still one of the best ways to have freight shipped?
Thanks

I used U-ship for a large center console bolseter seat and found a broker that did a good job for me. If you are interested PM me and I will be happy to dig up his name.

If you want the BEST method, I work for a company that sells top heavy machinery and we try to use YRC Sealed divider service. This is a special service they offer where you buy the nose of the trailer. Then the shipper is free to brace it as they please and then a wall (the seal) is put up and locked. This guarantees that it will not be touched by anyone from the time it leaves the shipper until it reaches the buyer. It also guantees that it will not be moved from trailer to trailer at various terminals where the damages usually occur.
I don't know if it would be competitive for shipping an outboard as it would prob be about $800ish you would have to call the local terminal. It is NOT their standard LTL serivice which is obvioulsy less expensive.......
