So i have a 1986 Merc 115,inline 6, with the carb's WMK41. Is this motor a candidate for the BB trick and vent jet removal?From my readings Merc did this so the motor would run lean at WOT.. and for fuel conservation.. and in hindsight wasnt there best idea.Also from what i have read you just remove the vent jet from all 3 carb's and put a BB in the crossover hose on top of the carb then reattach hose.Is this all there is to this ?The benefit from doing this is so the motor doesnt lean out at WOT and will run smoother.. correct?Thanks in advance guys.. appreciate any info.
