You have to take the emotions out of the verdict...do I think she's guilty?? Yes. Did the prosecution determine/prove "beyond a shadow of a doubt" that she killed her child?? No. There was no concrete evidence linking her directly to a murder; therefore she walks. The jury is instructed that their decision must be based on facts, hard cold evidence to convict someone of 1st degree murder....Casey Anthony will now become a wealthy woman, get paid do do interviews, do reality TV, and be stalked by media...only in America!!

I hope like hell somebody pops that Bitch right between her bugged out eyes and whats even worse is now we have to sit threw weeks of excuses as to why the verdict was not guilty trying to justify the insanity of it just like everything else nowadays, right is wrong and wrong is right. EVERYTHING is inside out from what it supposed to be.....

I gotta disagree with you on this one. I believe she did it, but if I had been on the jury I could not have voted for conviction either. Jurors can't just convict because they believe she did it, they must be shown evidence that proves without any shadow of a doubt that she did. That evidence was not there.

Bill, the evidence does not have to "show" beyond the shadow of a doubt. The Juror must (believe) beyond the shadow of a doubt and there was more than enough circumstantial evidence to show a person with some common sense that she did it . This is what i mean right here....now comes all the BS excuses as to why she was found not guilty when the truth is there is no excuse for it, The system and its jurors FAILED.....

Sorry bill, but you are not correct on this. They must prove beyond a "reasonable" doubt which is still a very high standard, but shadow of a doubt is from the movies. In essence reasonable doubt, it is not just any doubt, but that the doubt is based in the fact that another reasonable alternative explanation exists.

here are standard florida jury instructions as to reasonable doubt:

 A reasonable doubt is not a mere possible doubt, a speculative, imaginary or forced doubt. Such a doubt must not influence you to return a verdict of not guilty if you have an abiding conviction of guilt. On the other hand, if, after carefully considering, comparing and weighing all the evidence, there is not an abiding conviction of guilt, or, if, having a conviction, it is one which is not stable but one which wavers and vacillates, then the charge is not proved beyond every reasonable doubt and you must find the defendant not guilty because the doubt is reasonable.

Anyone ever have a nice fitting leather glove... That when you got it wet (saturated) took it off and left to dry, that it did not shrink? ??? That was a huge FAIL in the prosecution in the OJ trial. IMO of course.

Why did it take so long for Casey to admit Caylee was gone. :( RIP... Poor, poor girl. Hell, I don't like small kids, but I'd have taken her in. :nonod: :( :( :(

I am for the death penalty 100%, I'm just saying that if I were sitting on a jury trying a death penalty case, I have to be 100% sure (without a shadow of a doubt) that the person did it, and with not a single piece of evidence tying Casey Anthony to the crime, I couldn't convict her.

It would have been a different outcome if they were not going for the death penalty.

The Defense Team, did their work pro bono. They volunteered to do it for free. A bit of a gamble but since they won the case the publicity will slingshot their career. I don't know if she did it, but she was no mother. Definitely guilty of Impersonating a Human Being. The underhanded side of justice, IMO there is no justice. LEO's around the country just got a kick in the nutz. This POS is gonna walk, tomorrow. If she were to ever make a dime off the death of her little girl I would hope a Civil suit could be brought to nullify any gains, although it is unclear in my mind who the plaintiff would be. The family knows more than what they were saying. Why lie to law enforcement if you have nothing to hide? Nothing worse than inbred white-trash and Florida is eat up with it.

Actually, each count against her also had lesser versions that the jury could have chosen from that were not death penalty crimes...... like the premeditated murder could have been dropped down to manslaughter......

I wouldn't have convicted her either. They didn't have a case. They can't even prove the girl was murdered, all they know is she died. They didn't have one piece of physical evidence tying her to the death. Wow they found a single hair in her trunk. Man, I would expect to find a childs hair in the trunk of my car, with all the kiddo stuff I haul around. Ever put their clothes in the trunk?

No dna on the duct tape, no cause of death, no motive. No case.

I agree. Our system is not broken. It's designed not to put people in prison on emotion. My guess is she had something to do with it, if she didn't outright do it herself, but with no evidence you can't convict her. The police and prosecution just didn't have a case on her
