If a v6 merc has good spark while cranking over can one assume that that all the electrics are in good shape?

Usually but there are things like the charging system or the high speed side of the stator that can still be bad.

yup good spark at idle does not mean it will have good spark at 3000 rpm it could have a cylinder drop out at higher rpms either from not enough charge from the stator or(as Noah said hi side windings weak) ,switch box breaking down or double firing and the list goes on

You also don't know if the spark is happening at the correct time either. I have also seen the 6 coils will fire for about the first 10 seconds of turning over , then coils start slowly falling out one at a time until complete side is dark ( no fire ) ..

Its just not that simple ( wish it was ! ) sure would make troubleshooting allot more simple...
