Take some pictures of it and they make kits to fix the tank. I have a 56 10 hp johnson and a few others. Rick

The tank isn't supposed to bleed down I don't think, you just loosen the fill cap when your done, tighten it to run again. Not hard to sneak a little fuel pump in there if you don't care to keep it original, remember this is a brass main bearing motor like we've talked about in the oil threads, mix 24:1,30 wt non detergent motor oil,not modern 2stroke oil,we have tune-up parts if you need em,chris,BTW,if it's not worn out from the wrong oil/mixture it will be a sweetheart.

Modern 2 stroke oil works fine, just keep it to the 24:1 ratio. There is no magic in old oil and not enough magic in new oil to run leaner (no matter what the label says). Those plain smooth bearings need lots of oil.

...is available at the below link. The number is usually on a tag on the clamp bracket assembly. Its also on the block- usually on one of the soft plugs.

Been running 25:1 TCW3 on my old bushing motors with out any trouble either.

Chris is right about the tank. You probably need to crack the cap to bleed the tank after you stop and fish. Sometimes they flood if you don't.

Number should be on the clamp bracket... or maybe the swivel bracket.
