I have several Pro max customers a year that want to "clean up" the front of their motor buy removing the OEM fuel equiptment.
After removing all the OEM stuff:
I use the small Bosch fuel pump and mount in the boat. I get it from Brucato. I next connect the outlet of the pump to the brass fitting above the VST tank where the old pump tied in. I then use a stock 260 gold regulator and tie into the return line back to the tank, I even use the orficed tee that comes from the high pressure side of the rail on the 260 to the return line returning to the tank.. I'm not at a parts cat. now and can't give you the parts numbers I use as I'm on vacation but will be home in a few days , call me at the shop @ 1 281 576 5088 and I'll get you the numbers ....

Dang Jay. Helping us out even on vacation. If that doesn't say what needs to be said about you and your commitment to high performance boaters nothing will. I appreciate it greatly and will call you.

just did mine pretty the same way Jay mentioned but I use an Aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator set to 36 lbs as per Brucato's recommendation and fuel curve. Tony and Linda at Brucato were very helpful. Great people.

Thanks for the kind words Chris....
Man Pro Comp whata slick job !!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
That is exactly the way I do it but I use the stock OEM REG( thats the correct poundage for the ACU-Stock ECU requirements ) OR an adjustable Bosch that has the threaded air barb on top used to adjust the fuel pressure , its stealthy but pretty pricey....
Again,
Thanks Chris ! and Pro , great job...

H2OSkiier30 and Silverado5.3 helped me with my conversion and my Pro Max has never run better. I got all needed parts from Tony & Linda ( outstanding customer service )

When this conversion is done, is a surge tank or something similar required??

Is it possible to go ahead and move the water filter into the boat while I work on getting the other things for the fuel system. I mean will the lift pump pull through the filter and if it will does the primer bulb go before or after the filer. Thanks for the help guys.

Al, with the new electric pump you won't need the primer bulb or the diaphram pump on the motor presently. The electric pump will pull through an in boat fuel/water trap filter without a problem. At Tony B's advice I added a small in-line fuel filter just befor the rail.

Other than ProComp, is anyone running an OEM promax ECU with the fuel pump/regulator modification?

My VST delete is not going well. All plumbing is done, 38psi fuel pressure regulated, fuel is dumping into motor.
I think I have an o-ring issue on the fuel rail? Even without cranking the motor the pump would not build pressure over 25psi. I hooked the supply and return together to set pressure and tried again with same result. I have to crank the motor with no fuel supply and let it run all the fuel out. It won't even try to start with fuel pressure.
Update: I took the fuel rail out and found a pinched o-ring on 1 injector. That was causing fuel to run out of rail and into reed valve then into motor.

I also had to purchase the 2-90* fittings and the gauge. Oh and the push lock hose also. I know the gauge faces backwards but without a 90* that was how it needed to sit. I only used it to set the pressure. Mike
