my father use to be into drag racing boats and I believe this is one of the motors they built for the boats, im just getting the itch for fast boats and cant find a serial number or tag on this motor, the freeze plugs over the heads say b7 and 200, and in the back of the block there was a casting that said 858-8631-c, either way im just looking for some general info on if it is indeed a 200? its and efi motor, and looks as the mid section has above water exhaust ports? I believe it also has low water pickup on the lower unit?, Any more ideas on identifying the year etc? thanks guys, the cowl is a lightweight one peice fiberglass one also

2.4 liter. Looks like it has a 20" offshore ridgeback mid section and CLE lower.

appreciate the responses, i did a little research said these motors can be a pain to keep running, im looking to pickup a tunnel around 18 ft range ideally to put this motor on. hope that will be a fun pair

got a build date stamped on number 2 cylinder at the bottom near the mating flange ?? 3 sets of small numbers like 5 16 89 thats the date it was built , could be a 220 laser mota very suspect on the ECU part if its original if its in the early 90's its just a 200 efi

Not hard to keep running at all. It'll work fine on a 18" tunnel or any other hull. Hundreds of people on here run em', myself included. Buy ya hull rigged for Merc and go. PH

i looked on the numb 2 area an saw a few numbers but it appeared to be a set of numbers almost ontop of a set? i did see an 89 at the end of one set? the block appears to have been painted as i saw a few small runs of paint and areas that looked as tho they has less color. be alot easier if my dad was still around where i could just ask him these questions haha. here are two more pics I snapped, thanks for the replies guys, it looks like ill need to pick up a set of plug wires as these look a bit weathered, last time i ran this way over a year ago, what do you guys recommend to do as initial steps?
