installing water pickup scoops

Got a pair used from a friend w/o any directions. I understand the upper and lower screws will be fastened to the case. I got 8x32 machine screws for this and got well plugs and screws for the middle holes on the scoops. My question is where do I locate the scoops? Case is an 8 hole on a 3L so im guessing the middle hole on the scoop goes on the 5th hole down on the water pickup? How deep can I drill my holes that will be tapped?

the top hole opens into the water intake. i do believe the bottoms one does as well. the scoops help when rAISING THE MOTOR HEIGTH but are not as effect as the low water pu. if you still need the instruction send me an email at [email protected]

Mine actually were taller than the pickups so i drilled and tapped 8-32 and used some stainless allen head screws. Doubled my water pressure after install and the fit up isn't really that great. I think I can go up another 1" probably. I'll post up some pictures of the install after I can get some. Thanks for the reply!
