transom waterpickup slower then nosecone?

i have a 21ft phantom with 225 opti , just installed a jackplate because i was not happy with the speed ,have not run since
top is at 73 mph with 27p tempest before the jackplate.

, problem is that the motor doesn't have a dual pickup so i can't lift that high .
have revs to spare.

so i'm wondering if a transom pickup is a good option , as it's the easiest?

what about the drag . can anyone enlighten me?

works well on tunnel hulls. On v bottom will disturb water in front of prop jmo
