Can you use a front half off a 2.4 200 on an EFI BP motor? I'm getting a BP motor that I want to use my 5 pedal reeds on and wondering if these will fit and not loose too much HP. Or should I get a set of 7 pedal reeds and intake to use instead? :)

yes you can use a 2.4 5 petal front on a bridgeport block, the 5 petal will be spunkier outa the hole and midrange, top end wont be much different under 8000 ;)

I would use the 5 pedal front.Thats what I had on my sst140 BP and was strong to 7500 and would pull smaller props past 8000.With carbs the 7 pedals don't work any better plus you already have the 5 pedal.:)

That's what I wanted to hear. The BP I'm getting has an EFI front on it and I wanted to use the front off of my 200. Anybody need an EFI front half? :)

I have on switched case halfs on a few motors but I was aways warned to make sure they line up. Noah LeGear told me what to do if they dont but I cant remember...give him a call hes pretty helpful...or Im sure other can help to. COMP KING, I have never heard of a sst140 bp. Was it a production motor or something you made?

It was a production race motor for the sst 140 tunel boat class.I bought it from a local racer in 92.They were 2.4 carb BP's with 5 pedal fronts.I thought it was a great lake motor had lots of punch and ran mid 90's.

I know what the motor is, I run one on my vector...I was not aware that it has bridged ports or does the bp stand for something else.

do you like the sst or your oval port better?

I'm not a expert on the class and don't know if the early 140's were bp's but in the early 90's they were. The stock sst 140 is a lot stronger in the mid and top end but the stock 200 oval was real punchy but would die at around 7000.I havn't got to run my new oval yet but expect it to be stronger than the BP without the ring wear problems.

I dont think my block is as new as yours so it may not have a bridge in it. I know mine has 6 steel sleeves and has had a lot of porting done to it. when you say oval port, is it a mod vp or something else?
