I live in the sticks and am on an edition water well . Every time a cat pees on a tree we loose power and this pump goes out . Got tired of no water or a pressure no more than a drip. Went to the Tank Depot Monday and bought a 500 Gallon tank.. Had already bought a 110 V on demand pump that will lift 28 FT and put up 60 PSI. Tied it into the house cold water side so I could fill from the existing piping as well as supply the house from that point.

Tested it yesterday , cut off the supply outside and had tank filled to 250 gallons , the pump had twice the pressure we are used to .. I will also use it during storms as I am on a 17 KV stand alone gen that comes on 20 seconds after power loss , it ran 18 days straight during IKE and didn't miss a beat...Now I will have power AND water..

Life is good !

I kind of do the same thing for different reason. My well dosen't recover very well. Another words the pump pumps whats in the well and when it uses it up doing a load of luandry after taking a shower for instance it take forever for it to pump up any preasure. So we added 2 110 gallon holding tanks and double pump. We pump from the well into the tanks, we have a box that senses that there is no preasure left in the well and shuts off the pump for a predetermed time and keeps doing that till the tanks are full then shuts off with a float switch. A second pump in the house pumps from the tank throught out the house. You may want to do that to keep water fresh in the tank.

Now all you gotta do is hook up a modified 260 to the system and you can pressure wash with it. LOL
