I was having issues with my 1986 200 HP Black Max Outboard. As it turns out the oil injection adjust ring was not adjusted properly it was lined up on the wrong mark. So I adjusted the rod end to make it so it is on the right mark on the wheel but the spring behind the wheel is just loose and it has two hooks bent on it and i do not know where one of them connects too. One side hooks onto a notch in the wheel with the marks on it and the other I believe hooks onto the casting of the motor where the other mark is. I know it is hard without pics and I will try to get some but any help would be appreciated. Its one of the few things keeping me from getting this thing fired up!!

get rid of the oil injetion system and pre-mix it before you fry a motor from a stripped gear..... JMHO

I appreciate your opinion. But in honesty that is not something I am ready to do. The boat has been running on oil injection for the last 18 years we've owned it and the alarm system is always functioning properly and I am not looking to change it. I appreciate the input but my understanding is the oil injection is a gradual mixing from idle at 100:1 to wide open throttle at 50:1. I like that mixture instead of running rich at idle and lower rpms. If anyone knows anytihng directly about adjusting the oiler please let me know! Thank you flabum it is something I may consider in the future.
