Slightly off topic but figured only the old motor guys would know. I am restoring an old white Merc and need to make up some fuel lines. Does anyone know where I can get the crimp on brass fuel line ends? Need to be exactly what Merc used. thanks Jeff

Jeff , Do you have a Parker dealer near you? If you do you might try them, Get there catalog # 4400 and 3501-E. Thats the two that have all there brass hose fittings.

I believe you can order hoses from Mercury. I've seen this done recently. But they are expensive. What motor are you working on? Would you consider used? Thanks, Dave:)

CH, do you have a number for Parker? Never heard of them. Dave it will be a 100% restoration, although I do plan on using the boat so only new will do. It is a 61 500.

Jeff , They have a Regional office in Greensboro , NC. the # is 336-373-1761. The full name of the company is Parker Hannifin Corp. Hose Products div. They will be able to tell you where there sales offices are. They have a web site now it's www.parkerhose.com I havn't been on it so I don't know how much help it would be. They have about 8 defferant catalogs, One of there lines I'm sure you heard of is Enerpac. You should pick up there catalogs they have alot of products.

Bruce where did you get your white paint? Is the Cloud White different from the old Chrysler/ Force white or the OMC white? Thanks

Jeff,
I painted that motor with single stage PPG "OMNI" over DP epoxy primer.
Just pull the chrome trim off the cowling, polish the original old unfaded paint and match. I can get the PPG #s I used if you want 'em.
Painting with automotive paint is the only way to go on a motor you have a bunch of work in. If you don't have the equipment, get cozy with a body shop.

Hey Dave,
4" in the last 4 or 5 hours.......... Whippersnapper thinks it's pretty neat.
There is a pretty new ('01, '02) Chrysler solid black that is REALLY black, no brown, that will work nicely. You have to be careful with the blacks (there are many shades) and most of them will have a brown cast in the sun.

I figured you were gettin hit. Gotta love them white Thanksgiving's! That's what a friend of mine that paints custom cars told me, Merc uses a very black paint. You can really tell when someone uses the wrong color of black on a merc engine. I'll have Jim check with his paint guy and try and get a small sample of black paint for a late model mopar.

I've never painted a Merc but try PPG Concept DCC9300. This is a special factory packed "blackest of blacks". This is single stage urethane and is not mixed by the jobber. A lot more expensive than OMNI AU though.

Thanks for the "heads up" I would think this black would be available in the OMNI AU also.
How would you compare the Concept to the now defunct Deltron single stage?
