Spacing front plate on alien cowl

Anyone space out the front plate on a alien cowl for more air? How did you extend the bolts that hold it on?

I think Ronnie here on the boards sells everything you need along with that front plate. Yes I have seen several Aliens like what you describe....I always wondered besides looking cool HOW much does it help. Good Luck.

I just used black 1/4 in hose and longer bolts.

On the inside of my front plate, there is another plate glued to it with slots in it. The bolts are inserted in between these two plates with the end bent at a 90deg angle so it cant come out and so you can tighten up the nut. Without taking them apart, looks like i would have to extend the existing bolts somehow.
