While working on a boat today it had a case I had never seen or hear of. This is a factory case and is not a add on. It has the heavy duty bearing carrier with the drain plug. It has 2 holes on the "rhino" horn it has. Hopefully someone can tell me what it is as I have never seen one like this.

It is a 4 3/4 case and it has been painted.
Looks like the older style cle with the small inspectiin plate, but never seen a factory cone that long on a cle.

James:
In reference to your first post. How do you know it's not a add on?
Everything about it says early 2 hole CLE except the extended cone.

It may be a coned CLE. If it is a cone CLE they done a very good job! I was going by the fact that it had the inspection windows and was factory as it never had the casting below the water pump. Never thought about a CLE having this wierd cone. Was hoping someone knew of a RARE case. LOL!

http://www.vancemfg.com/DSC00527.JPGThis looks like the cone they used. Like I said someone did a really good job. Looks like they took the time to align and connect the pick up holes and most likely did a continous weld and a super job blending everything together.
The company that makes these is Vance Manufacturing located in Taft Tennessee. The cone as pictured is around $16.95 retail. My cost as a distributor is $7.25.
