I have a 98 200 and since it was new I have had problems with it throwing TPI fault codes and derating the engine, Mercury worked and worked on it and others, have tried replacing the TPI sensors and have use of a DDT scanner with correct chip for a 98, all test are within range and the thing is still throwing codes, trying to get mercury to flash the ECU, but going is slow on that ANY IDEAS

I wonder if you can install a 2001 wire harness and PCM. They use the single TPS instead of the twins stacked on the 1998-1999. How different could the blocks and sensors be?

Sometimes you need to change the link rods and the rollers from your throttle body as well as the TPIs. Due to the fact they get worn out the vibrations of the motor can cause the motor to trip a TPI code regularly.
