Well, as I mentioned in another post, I've got a 85hp John-rude, and a 115; the 115 is currently on the boat, but I'm gonna clean the carbs and put the 85 on and rebuild the 115;
Thinking about doing some power upgrades. Now, there is a ton of information here, but I need to know what to search for...
Upgraded reeds? Exhaust? what else?
The 85 is a 1980, and the 115 is a 82.
Thanks

here is a recent thread along the same lines. http://www.screamandfly.com/showthread.php?235051-115-to-140-crossflow
good search terms should include Xflow mods ect. not sure how different your 82 115 is from earlier 70's stuff but the bolt ons should be similar i think. the 115 would be the one to modify. start looking for 135 and 140 parts like 1-3/8ths carbs from a 140. bubble back parts and exhaust stuffers. intake stuffer blocks.

Perfect! Thanks!
That gives me the starting point for sure, and I'll go from there.
My plan is to put the 85 on my fishboat, and rebuild / mod the 115 for a Glastron or something along those lines - in a 15' range. I'll get the motor done first, then work on the hull :)
