For all those affected by the diversionary tactics of the Army Corps of Engineers, my heart goes out to you..... in a time when the economy is killing small businesses, big brother decides to unleash mother nature upon them............. Although I see the reason behind it, i still see many people losing their livelihood from it and send my codolencese. A lot of historic places are about to be destroyed, many people will be displaced and have to start over and generations of history will be washed away..... prayers to you all.....

Your talking about this, yes? http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/may/14/la-readies-open-spillway-flood-cajun-country/
Yep it is a bad deal. Because Louisiana land is being lost because of all the work the CoE has done. Not just what is happening right now but all the work done to redirect the mighty Mississippi over the years has robbed a lot of marshlands of the sediment the Mississippi river would have delivered to it. This is a big part of the loss of Louisiana's marshlands and swampland.
Instead of all that sediment going into the marsh, basins, etc. it is dumped into the Gulf of Mexico, lost forever.
