Very good. They were pretty neat old cars designed to last about 30,000 miles. The turbo model ran pretty good.

They were the next best thing to an aluminum cylinder wall Chevy Vega.

They were really neat cars. A lot were used as ice racers with a 327 mounted amidships.

If I was going to do a car resto it would be in my top five.

my friend had one in the early 70's blue/white turbo pretty fast cool car. My brother had the corvair 140 HP engine in a 1966 VW bug looking as stock as we could make it . fun sleeper !

Drove a 1961 Vair in High School, was a lucky kid because my Dad replaced the 80 HP mota with a 110 from a later Monza. Only failure I ever had was a top fan bearing and a plastic oil sensor.

There were several fatal rollovers in Corvairs here in Jax back then. Then again, once a year a Volkswagen Bug with the same folding suspension would roll-over on the sharp curve in front of our house and smash flat, killing everyone inside. It happened often enough that it was an exciting time [as a child] to meet-n-greet our neighbors while the Firemen/Policemen did their work cleaning up. It usually happened right after the bars closed at night [2:15 AM].

Yea, but they changed to a different suspention in 1965 I think. Too bad it was already dead. Nader personally saw to that. :nonod:
