I'm a bit bias being a Wizard dealer BUT my customers have been running Wizards from jump street and been totally satisfied from unlimited NOS motors, modified motors running big compression and rpm numbers , recreational engines , bass boat motors as well as Shawn running them and winning in F1 this year.
The quality of the Wizard piston is VERY apparent when they are assembled on rods the fit of the wrist pin verses the others is amazingly different, no more heating and wacking, the Wizard pins glide in with one finger pressure people that own a set and have owned the others know EXACTLY what I'm talking about..
IMO ya can't go wrong with the Wizard offered in 2 over size bores and an array of ring face material for steel and Nik.
Also your comment about "worth the money" ? They are cheaper than OEM as well as the rings for the Wizard are WAY cheaper and always AVAILABLE ...

Call Larry at Zuber Marine in La. Buy the Mercury piece. It will give you better service. I pulled a set out of a 22 to 25hr 280 and all the pistons show signs of rocking in the bore. There is excessive top ring wear on 4 of the six holes. Four of the pistons measure .493 and two were at .492. The pistons are either soft (less silicon content in the casting) or are manufactured smaller in diameter.
I am not a fan of Mercury and their pricing........... but if you gotta pay that much for slugs, buy the ones that will last. (relatively speaking)

I've installed and sold literally HUNDREDS of sets of Wizards and as long as they have been installed in a bore that is 3.500" and round ( confirmed with a dial bore gauge ) Wizard pistons are living fine for my motors as well as all that's bought/ buy them to our knowledge.....
You will find that NO piston will live long if they are put in a worn/ over sized or egged bore...
Also the Wiesco /Mercury OEM pistons are of the same forgings as the Wizard...
