You guys seen this yet. Rick Gilmans blown v-8. I found this at Monty Racing. Hope Gordon or Rick don't mind me posting it here. Looks awsome to say the least!

Rick did that several years ago.

If I remember correctly it was not as good as they hoped. I don't think they could get its full potential out of it.

that would have been cool to see that run. I talked to monty about it when i was getting parts to build my V8.

Hopefully STVKeith will chime in. I think he is very familiar with this motor.

Rick told me the blower was too small for the motor. I seem to recall it was a 6-71, but I could be wrong. The parts to put one together still sit in Ricks' garage, last time I was over there.

Didn't he also mention that a much bigger blower was needed to make it work correctly? I seem to remember that he eliminated the reed valves and just went for positive pressure and that the blower did not keep up. Looks killer but unfortunately.....

Long time no news Keith, how are the Monty's running? I am currently prepping a 30" for my mid and setting up a new powerhead....

The project came to a stop when he broke the snoot off the blower. Last I talked to Rick about it he was also having difficulty getting mapped correct.

I remember talking to Rick at the Rumble one year and I thought he said that he felt that it would not exhaust fast enough, that it would get to a certain horsepower point and just would'nt do any more.

Your real close, it's a 8V-71 blower. I'd think a 8V-71 would be plenty of blower. That blower is for a 8V-71 Detroit Diesel which is 568 cubic inches and is a 2 stroke engine.

I might be seeing things but it looks like the blower is on upside down.

Good to see you're still kicking around Kim! :) The Monty motas are running great. Those water pumps fixed the idle cooling issues.
