What all needs to be added to a new 2.5 ph to mount on a 1984 2.4 mid.or older single ram 1982 2.0 mid. I know i at least need a new hood and lower shroud, but not clear on the adapter, thnks for the info

Not much at all. You can route your hoses just like the 2.4 or just as the 2.5. Makes no appreciable difference just check for leaks..

I was wondering the same. The base gaskets look nothing alike, I assume use the 2.5 base gasket under the 2.5 powerhead on the 2.4 mid. Is this correct?

when i did the swap i used both the exhaust plate & the mid plate from the 2.5 power head on the early mid section which worked well, i think i recall the exhaust can was different but i just left that out. kinda wish i had it back in now just to quieten it a bit!!

I'm in the middle of putting a 2.5 280 on a 2.4 Bridgeport. Both use one piece adapters. I was told it would bolt right up even though the exhaust passages are smaller in the 2.4 adapter. Jay Smith (a well known engine builder) convinced me that althought you can often get away with that, it is not good to undercut your exhaust that way. He highly recommended that I switch to a 2.5 adapter in order to prevent possible overheating issues with the new powerhead. If you do change adapters you need to change the water tube to the larger tube that is apropriate with that adapter and the top waterpump housing that goes with it. My knowledge on anything besides a 260-280 hp power going onto a 2.4 Bridgeport is fairly limited. I don't know if that helps you, but I thought I would share what I knew.

That sounds like the foolproof way of doing the swap. Thank you for your replies.
